Copenhagen, Denmark, October 3rd, 2019 – Leading hearing aid provider, Oticon, has been recognized as one of the most innovative companies in Europe by one of the world’s largest and most prestigious business competitions. Ranking top in Denmark, Oticon has been named the ‘National Winner’ in the Award for Innovation with Turnover of +150€ category by the judges of the 2019 European Business Awards.

Chosen from 2,700 businesses named as ‘Ones to Watch’ in a list of business excellence published in July, Oticon was selected as a National Winner by a panel of independent judges, including business leaders, politicians and academics, which were won over by Oticon’s ability to understand the needs of hearing aid users and trailblaze new, unique hearing technology that changes the lives of people with hearing loss.

“Being recognized by such an important business award panel is extremely gratifying,” says Ole Asboe Jørgensen, President, Oticon Brand, Global. “We were able to demonstrate that we choose to reinvent hearing technology rather than simply try to improve it and are successfully doing so to the benefit of the hearing industry and Oticon hearing aid users.”

Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards said: “This is a significant achievement and Oticon is an outstanding leader in their field. To be chosen as a National Winner means you show great innovation, ethics and success and are one of the best businesses in Europe.”

The European Business Awards is now in its 12th year and its primary purpose is to support the development of a stronger and more successful business community throughout Europe. This year it considered over 120,000 businesses from 33 countries. The full list of National Winners can be viewed at the European Business Awards website.
