Press the button for 2 seconds until both indicator lights turn white, then release the button.

Wait for 10 seconds until the status indicator light turns green.

EduMic is now turned on and the microphone is ready for use.

2

Restart your hearing aids to activate pairing mode

Turn your hearing aids off and then on again.

For hearing aids with disposable batteries, open the battery drawers and then close them

For rechargeable hearing aids, turn them off by pressing the lower button of each hearing aid for 3 seconds. Then turn them on again by pressing the lower button of each hearing aid for 2 seconds.

Your hearing aids can now be paired with EduMic within the next 3 minutes.

During the pairing process.

Place your hearing aids close to the EduMic.

The status indicator will blink blue while pairing is in progress.

When pairing is complete, the status indicator will stop blinking blue and turn green.

EduMic is now ready for use with your hearing aids.

If you need to pair more hearing aids to one EduMic, repeat this process for each pair of hearing aids.

Note: We recommend you only pair one set of hearing aids at a time.

Managing paired devices

To listen to the sound coming from EduMic, your hearing aids should be switched to their EduMic program. This can happen automatically or manually.

Automatic hearing aid program change

EduMic can store up to 10 sets of hearing aids. When the EduMic begins actively sending sound, these sets of hearing aids will automatically change to their EduMic program and receive sound from the EduMic if they are within 20 metres.

If you mute EduMic, these hearing aids will automatically switch back to an ordinary listening program.

Manual hearing aid program change

When more than 10 sets of hearing aids are paired with EduMic, some of the hearing aids will need to be manually changed to their EduMic program.

How to clear pairings from EduMic

You can make EduMic forget all of the hearing aids it is paired with.

This is useful when the pairings are no longer needed. Once cleared, the first 10 hearing aids that are paired will enjoy access to the automatic hearing aid program change functionality.

To clear pairings

Ensure EduMic is turned on.

Press and hold down the button for 12 seconds until the status indicator turn red. All pairings with hearing aids are now cleared from EduMic.
